Q) Can Attachment Manager move attachments from tracked emails?
A) Yes, Attachment manager can move attachments to Azure even for emails that are tracked from Outlook.
Q) Can we move the attachments back from Azure to CRM?
A) Yes, we have built a feature to reverse the attachments from Azure to CRM using an on-demand workflow. (this feature is in Beta)
Q) How can I check if my attachments are moving to Azure?
A) There are various options to check whether the attachments are moving over to Azure:
- The attachment will be renamed with a suffix added as ".url". Click on this link to download the attachment.
- Check for files directly by browsing in Azure Blob
- Add "Attachment Manager" web resource to the entity form (refer user-guide for instructions). This will show list of all attachments that have been uploaded for that specific record.
Q) What file types can be moved by Attachment Manager app?
A) Attachment Manager app supports all file types. This can be configured in setting "Valid File Types" under attachment manager configuration settings. The default file types supported are: txt, doc, docx, xls, xlsx, jpg, jpeg, gif, png, bmp
Q) Can I search within attachments?
A) There is no option to directly search through the text for attachments that have been moved to Azure. We would recommend configuring only those attachment file-types (in CRM Attachment Manager settings) that you don’t need searching on.
Q) I don’t want the small images like the ones which come with email signature to be moved to azure. Is it possible to restrict those?
A) Yes, there is a setting called as "Minimum File Size (for transfer) in KB" which can be set to filter out small attachments.
Q) Can bigger attachments be moved to azure? What is the size limitation?
A) By default the maximum attachment size limit in CRM is configured as 5MB. This is a CRM administration setting and can be modified. We do not have any size limitation for moving attachments to azure.
Q) We have a bulk deletion job that runs in background once a month and deletes all attachments older than 2 years. If our attachments have been moved to azure, how do we delete older attachments?
A) There is a setting in configuration called as "Restrict Hard Delete (on Azure)". If this setting is set to "No" then whenever an attachment is deleted in CRM, the same will be deleted by Attachment Manager app in Azure.
Q) Is support covered under Annual subscription?
A) Yes, subscription includes email based support. Further if detailed diagnosis is needed then need to purchase a technical support ticket.
Q) Can we upgrade to a higher version of the app?
A) Yes, you can freely upgrade to any higher version of the app as long as the subscription is active.
